Abstract

Depression is a mental illness that often occurs when something happens against the will. As a result, the patient suffers from grief and sadness for a long time and destroys his health. Such a patient neither mentions it to a friend, loved one or relative nor consults a specialist doctor due to shame, due to which his confusion increases with the passage of time. According to experts, this disease is closely related to the condition of the patient. Loneliness, traumatic life events, fatal or chronic physical diseases, past deprivations, drug abuse, materialism and adoption of un-Islamic habits and customs are the main causes of this disease. However, sometimes this disease is also hereditary which runs from generation to generation. Experts have described some of its symptoms: depression, despair, loss of self-esteem, not taking interest in any work and not paying attention to daily tasks, etc. If even a few such symptoms appear, understand that the person is suffering from depression. In such a case, he should not only consult a medical specialist immediately, but should also end his un-Islamic ways of life. Reforming faith and especially having firm faith in destiny is the best cure for this disease. Then, placing complete trust in Allah Almighty in all matters, having good hope, not despairing of Allah's mercy, engaging in the recitation of the Qur'an and remembrance of Allah, observing five daily prayers, sharing one's emotions and feelings with someone, a balanced diet. And restful sleep, sightseeing and trying to keep yourself busy with some kind of activity are factors that can be used to control depression. This method of treatment is not only prescribed by psychologists, but it is also guided by Islamic Sharia.
